Perfect Serenity: Seneca Lake

My weekend spent on Seneca Lake in New York was one of the most relaxing weekends I've ever had.  I was able to get in touch with nature and  reflect on who I've become over the 2.5 months I had been in college.

Seneca Lake and Seneca Falls is a historic area in New York where the first women's rights convention was held, and while I wasn't able to explore that city and learn more about the historic convention, I was able to have a more scenic experience at Seneca Lake.

Over the 3 days that I was here, I was able to swing dance, canoe, lay on the beach, go hiking, relax with coffee and listen to students perform vocally, and also journal.  Many people underestimate the power of a journal, and while it isn't something that I do frequently, I find magical healing powers while writing entries. (Seriously, if "magical healing powers" aren't enough to make you pick up a journal and try writing a few entries, then there must not be any hope left for you)

Just take a look at some of the beautiful pictures of this place.

Although most of the weekend was rainy and overcast, its beauty still shone through.  Listening to guest speakers, worshiping with a hundred other god-loving college students, and finding quiet time to reflect is the perfect way for me to recharge.  So if you're in the area or even close to Seneca Lake, visit this place!  Learn about its rich history, explore its beautiful downtown, or relax and recharge surrounded by nature.  It's your choice
